Rat Guide - The Rat Guide is an excellent resource that was developed in conjunction with rat owners, veterinarians, pharmacists, medical doctors, and veterinary research universities.
Rat Groups & Registries
Great Lakes Fancy Rat Association - GLFRA is located in lower Michigan. It is a social group that works to educate the general public on the care and love of fancy rats. Although they are not RSA-affilated, they do encourage their members to work within the RSA guidelines while maintaining a healthy, friendly environment for breeder and novice alike.
North American Rat Registry - NARR is a centralized fancy rat registry where breeders and pet owners alike can register their rats and track pedigrees and transferable problems such as megacolon and SDA outbreaks.
Northern Illinoise Rat Organization - NIRO is one of the few well-organized and RSA-supported clubs out there. The host shows and have active participation by their members. There is a fee to join, though.
Rat Society of America - The RSA's goals are to uniform the fancy as a whole and create a positive environment for pet owners and breeders alike. They give affilation to clubs who agree with their points of ethics and care.
